Throughout chapters 10-36 in the Book of 2 Chronicles, there are twenty rules that are brought to attention for the twenty rulers. All of the rules are very appropriate for what a leader should look like in the House of God, and they are all things that I hope to someday adhere to. I find that almost all of the rules are applicable to my life, but there are a few that I recognize as areas that I could work on more. One of the rules that I find more challenging than the others is to seek first the Great Physician for my healing. This rule is found in 2 Chronicles 16:12, where it reads, “And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.” God is our Great Physician, and I have many stories of the miraculous works of healing that have been acted out by the power of the Holy …show more content…
2 Chronicles 12:14 reads, “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.” Unlike the ruler in this story, who had no hunger for the Lord, I find myself constantly craving the Lord and His greatness. As I seek the Lord more and more, I discover that I find absolutely no pleasure in things of this world. Time or thoughts that are not of the Lord are of no pleasure to me. Because of God’s greatness, I find myself constantly seeking Him in my daily life. Whether in times with Him, or just living life surrounded by others, I am always seeking for a way to bring Him into every situation. I find myself wanting more and more of Him, and less and less of me; wanting to see His glory brought to the earth, the whole entire earth, because He is worthy of all the praise. I think what makes this the easiest, and the most enjoyable, is being aware that it is all for Him and the His glory.
