The book of Judges is one of the most profound stories in the Bible. The chapters in this book consists of so many interesting topics such as riddles, jokes, poems, and even some narrative history. The book of Judges was created for us to understand what exactly happened in a time where Israel needed God the most. Israel had fallen into utter despair and chaos. Then had lost touch with God and prayed for him to have mercy on them and to help them see the light once more. First and foremost, God gave them what they deserved, then he sent 12 judges to save them, but only when they needed it. There are also so many great judges to step forth in these chapters of Judges. These people came and ruined crops, homes, livestock, and so much more. Their homeland was being destroyed by people who did not care and had nobody to turn to, to save them but God himself. This is when God send Gideon who was an already proven soldier. There were several battles Gideon had to go through. However, Gideon reduced the army while keeping God in mind, “twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained” (Judges 7:3) because they were to scared to battle and God let them walk away.. He continued to do this until his army had just over 300 men. This judge had become notorious and one of the greats after he took over and won Israel back. He got rid of all enemies, restored the faith and God’s grace to the people, and he even declined when the people said they wanted him as their king saying “I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you” (Judges 8:23). He was truly all for God and wanted it to remain that way. No matter the odds, if people remain with the Lord, they will always be on the winning side and this is something Gideon had proven after each battle, time and time
