The book of Romans tells of the letter written by the Apostle Paul to the people of the Roman church and the community of Jews and Gentile. Romans in the sixth book of the New Testament, and is known as the most methodical and consistent doctrinal book of the Apostle Paul. It was written to reveal that salvation is offered through the teachings of Jesus. Through the letter from Paul, one can seek blessings from having a relationship with God, mutual love, and respect for one another, and transformation.
Romans is one of the few books of the New Testament whose dates are relatively accurate. Most likely, Romans was written between 56 and 58 A.D. on Paul's third missionary journey to Corinth. It is implied that Paul was taking up collections for insolvent Jewish Christians through missionary journeys. Paul planned to travel to Rome and enlist the support for a mission to Spain to continue to spread the gospel. Since his travels to the East, and he had received contributions from Macedonia and Achaia, more than likely he was in Corinth when he penned the letter because he refers to Phoebe of Cenchrea (Romans 16:1) and his host Gaius (Romans 16:23) who was Corinthian. The primary idea of Romans is God's plan of salvation and goodness for all humanity. By living life according to God's plans blessings of an intimate relationship provides a peaceful and unique experience. Evidence of this is found in Roman 1:17 "For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it was written: " The righteousness will live by faith."
