Ian Fahning English III Scott-Kelly Period 1 Book Report Book: Skin Games Author: Jim Butcher 1. one major theme in this book is to never give, no matter how the odds are, you need to try. It shows this by putting Harry in very bad situations, very very very bad situations. And no matter what, Harry doesn't give in he continuous to try. Same with his friend, Michael. Near the end of the book Michael gives Nicodemus a chance to be good, instead of killing him, he offers him a chance, a chance to do the right thing, and be good. And one more example it when Butters, a novice magician and Harry's friend, is pinned down behind cover as it is riddled with bullet holes, all his comrade are down and cant fight, and he it the only one left. Despite the guarantee of death, he charges out, magic runes flailing, to save his comrades. He is downed as well with a sever broken leg and some bullet holes, but he gave enough time for harry to get a plan and execute it. even though the odds were definitely not in their favors, Harry, Michael, and butters all pushed on. 2.another big theme …show more content…
Harry is very good at that one, he never leaves a comrade lying on the battle field. In humanity, there really isn't a ton of abandoning friends, but there certainly is no a little amount. Another lesson they could learn is selflessness. In this book there is also no shortage of that, in the mid way point off the book, one of Harry's friends, Michael, offers his life to Nicodemus, in exchange for Harry's. The whole world could use a lot of selflessness, but there is unfortunately not a lot. Finally, the last lesson to learn, is to have a plan. There are so many points in the book where harry thinks of a plan to defeat the bad guys, he is always prepared. Not enough people are prepared these days, to much procrastination, and I am certainly not Innocent. But this book has taught me to be prepared and done it
