Where do you stand on the social inequality in the United States? People of different classes will give different answers. We should admit that the United States is the most powerful capitalist country in the world, where great advances in science and technology and the development of capitalism have brought a lot of benefits, which provides a great opportunity for the United States to become the richest country in the world. We all know that a person can live only by eating, but if he is not happy, then life is meaningless. Social inequality includes not only inequality of income, but also inequality in the class. As a result, inequality is bound to cause all imbalances. Poor people feel unconfident because they are discriminated against and unfairly treated. In When Shelter Feels Like a Prison, as a result of social inequality, the author has lived in four or five different homeless shelters in New York, and she learned how to adapt to the life there at that time. For a child, childhood should be free and happy. But the author had to learn to adapt to the abnormal life at a young age with her mother, and learned how to utilize the current resources. In addition, when she grew up, she still remembered the details of that period. It is not difficult for us to imagine how deeply impressed she was by her childhood experience. It was just the inequality that brought pressure to children. In Born Poor and Smart, the author's mother loved to read but was ignored by the high class because of class inequality. Although the authors succeed to go to college, he still felt himself like an outsider in two worlds and had never been able to convince himself that he can own success. The inequality of the class caused the inequality of view. In fact, people are all equal and should not have different views on others because of the amount of money. His family was poor when he was a child. Although he was smart enough to go to university, he received different material and education from that of high-class people, which directly led to his inferiority.
