In the book Learning to Bow, written by Bruce Feiler, Feiler is sent to Japan to teach Japanese students about American values, customs, and its language. Feiler discusses his life and teaching experience in Japan during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. In what became more of a learning lesson however, the author was able to understand what it truly meant to be Japanese. Feiler is better able to understand what it means to be Japanese through his immersion into Japanese society, as well as comparing his Americanized ideals with that of Japan. He is enabled through this immersion to better understand the vast similarities and differences between these two distant countries.
The Ox-Bow incident is a classic western film that follows a posse that includes a deputy, is out to get those involved in a shooting. They come across a group and suspect them as the shooters and must decide what to do. While watching the Ox-Bow incident a question comes to mind, who is responsible enforcing human rights? I say everyone, but who is everyone? It could be as simple as saying law enforcement should and those who are here to protect and serve this country, but this answer cannot be so simple without their being questions like, does law enforcement even defend human rights?

In the novel The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Spear, Daniel, a poor boy, runs away from his abusive mentor and hides in the mountains. Daniel finds a group of outlaws he lives with and becomes the resident black smith. Daniel thinks his life is wonderful until one day when he is wandering around on the hills he sees two of his old friends, Joel and Malthace. Although Daniel enjoyed visiting with his friends, later he wishes he had not because now a small part of him misses his old life and his family. Throughout the course of the novel, Daniel develops in to a better person and shows everyone just how brave, faithful and loving he can be.
MURDER AT A POLITICAL RALLY A political speaker has been murdered during a political demonstration. The bullet was fired from among the crowd, who claimed to have heard a popping noise from amongst them, but no one seemed to have seen the shooter or the weapon. There is one thing in the woods that is really exciting and that is turkey hunting. Turkeys will get your heart racing and you blood rushing and have you shaking in just five seconds. When he comes up there strutting,spitting,and drumming, that’s when it gets real. When you hit that “yawt yawt” and he cuts you off gobbling that is when you know that he is just as good as dead. Hunting Benefits All Hunting is seen by some present-day people as crooked and dishonorable, while it is really the act of protecting the health of animals for the future. Hunting is a simple and beneficial way to help animals in ways that some people may not understand. What people may not know is that “...the majority of the American public supports hunting even if they don’t personally participate, with about 79 percent of adult Americans nationwide indicating they approve of legal hunting” (“Understanding Hunting”). This percentage of people know the true value of hunting and the betterment it has on our world today. Hunting is a very logical and beneficial way to help animals, along with the hunters themselves.
One of the best days of my life was when we went deer hunting in South Dakota with my dad, brother, uncle and two cousins, but before I tell you about my trip let me tell you how it started. We left early in the morning to head to South Dakota where my cousin Jacob, who had just got a job as Game warden in Custer State Park, was taking us deer hunting. We got as far as Fargo, North Dakota when my cousin Keith asked my dad where our license were. Then to our surprise we forgot them back at home. We were lucky enough to have my two aunts and mom bring us the license because they were going to Fargo that day anyways for a girls shopping day.

Guns that are poorly maintained may malfunction, which can mean certain death in some situations.
