In 1998 the Bragdon v. Abbott became known after Abbott was refused dental service by dentist Bragdon. She was refused service because she carried HIV. Bragdon offered his service free of charge at a hospital instead of doing it at his dentistry. Due to discrimination, Abbott won the case. Since HIV limits individuals in various ways, the court ruled that the HIV infection would be considered a disability under the ADA (“Bragdon v. Abbott”, n.d.). In the year 2000 Special Olympics campaign was setting goals to achieve. Some of their goals were to raise $120 million dollars and have at least 1 million participants.
