By portraying Fablehaven as an secluded preserve for mythical creatures, he creates a rich and intricate world full of creatures like fairies, satyrs, and naiads, as well as dangerous beasts like trolls and demons. Moreover, Mull created two engaging characters, Seth and Kendra, to be relatable and well-drawn. Kendra is responsible and cautious, while Seth is impulsive and adventurous. The other characters, including Kendra and Seth's family members and the various creatures at Fablehaven, are also interesting and add depth to the story.
