The main element of what makes a person human and unique are the emotions and all that is being taken away They are being forced to adapt things that are unnatural to humans. Symbolism: Soma Quotation: ‘Oh, I wish I had my soma.’ (Lenina 100) • The quotation is significant because, it reveals that humans are conditioned to depending on soma for helping them out whenever they are down or not well in general. The government always wants the people of society to remain happy and never sad or low so they provide soma to prevent them from feeling anything negative. • Symbolism is revealed because the government has this for controlling its population.
