In my opinion, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961) is one of the most influential films in setting fashion trends. This Oscar Award winning movie is viewed as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2012
I think “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” was a progressive film in 1960s, it is because the fashion designer, Hubert de Givenchy, worked with the actress in the film-making process. They collaborated together to make the wardrobe – the little black dress and the large black sunglasses. And that "Little Black Dress" by Givenchy, worn by Hepburn in the beginning of the film is cited as one of the most iconic items of clothing in the history

It is a film about a girl called Rebecca non-stop using credit-card to buy whatever she wanted. She was happy and obsessed with the pleasure after buying new things, mostly, she bought luxury clothes, bags and shoes. However, the amount of money she spent was totally more than she can earn. So she was in debt and facing the harassment of debt collector. She used lots of methods to escape from the debt collector. She lied, she evaded. She hided this truth from her boyfriend, families and collegues. At that moment, she still didn’t think she was wrong. At last, the debt collector revealed Rebecca’s debt on the nation live talk show. (At that moment, she was the famous columnist). Then Rebecca lost her career, her boyfriend, credibility and honesty. At this point, she finally realized how severe her situation was. Then she changed and restarted her life. She sold all her clothes to pay the debt and had some psychological class to heal her shopaholic
