Founding Brothers In this book there are many interesting stories and lots to learn. Although the first chapter to really capture my interest would have to be Chapter 2, ‘The Dinner”. It discusses the dinner which Thomas Jefferson held to decide the issues of the early nation 's deficit and the location of its new capital. This event would later become known as the Compromise of 1790. During the summer of 1790, Hamilton said that his financial plan for the nation had reached a stalemate, because Southern politicians opposed the proposed assumption of state debt by the federal government.

This is the only novel I have read which covers a topic from hundreds of years ago, let alone a historical topic. I have never followed the gears and machinery behind politics. The novel presents an opportunity to appreciate the events that lead to decision making in the government. Reading The Summer of 1787 and watching the TV show House of Cards show very different sides to government. I have a newfound interest in understanding and observing the government more closely.

While their thought process may have been flawed, their executions of the ideas may have been carried out better.

American history is seen as boring by some including myself sometimes, but with this book, it is showing young minds such as students like myself that America is fascinating and we should want to know all that happened
Each event in the story was felt emotionally and gave me insight into the mind of Jeanette (The Main Character). Another reason I think this book is popular is because the story is based off of the authors childhood

This book was interesting for me because it allowed me to relate to a character. I love reading novels that not only allow me to feel a connection with a character, but allow me to relate to their personality or
Theme: Friendship “In M. Waldman I found a true friend. His gentleness was never tinged by dogmatism, and his instructions were given with an air of frankness and good nature that banished every idea of pedantry.
