Adult unemployment has been a problem in society for decades. With it being at an all time high of 25 percent during the Great Depression. Today it has dropped to 4.9 percent. Adult unemployment is also a commonly used soapbox for major political elections. Programs like workforce commissions, welfare and unemployment benefits all help people who cannot work or just choose not to work at all. President Trump is trying to limit these benefits to only people who absolutely cannot work at all. I agree with President Trump’s plan to bring jobs back to America. Trump plans to “bring jobs back to America”. Almost everything we buy in stores nowadays have “MADE IN CHINA” written, stamped, or even have a sticker saying that it’s from another country. 16.7 to 21.2 percent of products made in China are exported to the U.S. That is just China, there is still countries like Vietnam, Italy, Cambodia, etc. China shipped 35 billion USD worth of textiles and clothing to the US in 2007 increasing by about 16 percent from 2006. If he were to increase it it would encourage more people to go out looking for a job other than sitting at home all day using the benefits provided by the government. Labor unions tried to set a mandatory minimum wage back in the 1930s but it was ruled unconstitutional on the grounds that “it restricted the workers right to set the price for his own labor”. Minimum wage has gone from 25 cents an hour (which is about 4 dollars an hour in today’s money) to an average of 7.25 dollars an hour. That is only a 3 dollar difference, no really big change over the years. Take a phone from when they were first invented and a phone now. There is a big difference.
