On December 23, 1981, Thomas Sophonow, a Canadian man, was wrongfully accused of murder. 16 year old Barbara Stoppel was ruthlessly killed at the washroom of her workplace. Unfortunately, eyewitnesses mistakenly chose Mr. Sophonow as being the murderer. Eye witnesses stated that a man, whose appearance was very similar to that of Thomas Sophonow, locked the door and made his way to the back of the shop where he was presumed to have strangled Barbara Stoppel to death. Furthermore, while Thomas Sophonow was in custody, he showed an undercover officer a door locking technique.
In the Hit and Run case, there were scene photos taken of Oropeza-Quiroz. Detective Brown printed one of these photos to provide to Hicks for possible identification of “Ricky.” We again met with Hicks in the jail and showed him the photo of Oropeza-Quiroz. Hicks immediately recognized “Ricky” in the photo and said, “That’s him.” I also explained to Hicks that we were still looking at his phone and asked if I had the consent to look at his contact list to find Ricky’s phone number.
On December 24, 1968, a 10-year-old girl named Pamela Powers went missing in Des Moines, Iowa. Henry Williams, who had recently escaped a mental hospital, was seen carrying a “large bundle wrapped in a blanket” into his car. Without anyone being able to see what was in the bundle he drove 160 miles east of Des Moines where he abandoned his car. Henry Williams called a lawyer named Henry McKnight, who then informed officers that Williams was going to turn himself in. From the Des Moines Police station McKnight called Williams to inform him that two Des Moines Police officers will be driving to his location to pick him up.
In September of 1961, a woman from District of Columbia had an intruder break into her apartment. While the invader of the home was there, they had taken her wallet, and also raped the woman. During the investigation of the crime, the police had found some latent fingerprints in the apartment. The police then established and processed the prints. The prints were then connected back to 16 year old Morris A. Kent.
Lindbergh and Condon both identified Bruno Richard Hauptmann as the person who they exchanged the ransom with at the Cemetery. Another key point used was the discovery of the ransom money in his possession. The courts also pointed out during a two year period during the depression when Hauptmann had no job he continued to live beyond his means with traveling to and from Florida. Hauptmann also had past criminal record of many charge he was also a illegal citzen did not help his defense. on Febuary 13,1935 the jury reached a verdict Bruno Richard Hauptmann was guilty of murder.
The facts of this case are the son of the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh was kidnapped from his home on March 1, 1932. About two months later, the toddler body was discovered in Hopewell Township near Highfields in New Jersey. After an autopsy, the medical examiner determined that the cause of death was severe injuries to the head resulting from a fracture skull. After an in-depth investigation, Hauptmann Richard was detained and charged with murder. In 1935, Hauptmann was eventually found guilty of this heinous crime and sentenced to death.
The case of Elizabeth Smart was another of them. Elizabeth was kidnapped from her residence in 2002. She was 14 at the time and was held captive for nine long months. It was found out that even though Elizabeth had plenty of opportunities to escape, she never attempted to do so. She accepted her captivity and reported that she felt “safe” with the abductors.

If they were to ever get caught by the Nazis they would be send to a concentration camp and have to work there for the rest of their lives. A concentration camp is a camp where the Nazis take Jewish people (including kids and adults) and make them work all day everyday. Its really horrible.
Bystander behaviour can generally be described as the actions people take when they witness an emergency situation in a public place. There have been many studies on bystander behaviour, this essay will explore two approaches to explain this behaviour. It will look at the experimental method performed by Latané and Darley and at the discourse analysis done by Levine. First the essay will describe and outline the methods.after that it will examine the similarities as well as the contrast between those techniques. Latané and Darley did their research on bystander behaviour in the aftermath of the murder case of Catherine `Kitty´ Genovese,which happened in the Suburbs of New York in 1964.

One could look at the investigations these agencies completed and evaluate them in two phases, forensic evidence and investigative processes.
