In a world where an alien species, called the Buggers, are an everyday impending doom, Orson Scott Card has created two stories in which the reader follows two different, young boy’s journeys through Battle School and beyond. While the main character in Ender’s Game, Ender, grew up in a nice house in the city, the main character in Ender’s Shadow, Bean, grew up on the streets and starved before being brought to Battle School. While Ender, otherwise known as Andrew Wiggin, has a family with a brother and sister, he was a “third”.
