Technology is a part of our everyday life now. In the most recent decade, companies as often as possible would try to gain the upper hand by concocting new technological innovation. According to Forbes the next step in social-media and smart phones may as well be the restaurant table. As a consumer you want to see the use of new technology integrated into their dining experience and a new study by Technomic on consumer facing technology shows that it will speed up the process of getting the customers meal and paying the bill (Tice, 2012). According to Chipotle's chief marketing officer Mark Crumpacker the company doesn't want to get into traditional media marketing like television because according to him "Once you get on that model, I think it's very, very hard to get off." Chipotle like any other restaurant have zoning laws and are fixed to restrictions and guidelines. These restrictions and regulations could have an impact and could more than likely change the process by which a company like Chipotle operates in a daily basis, especially when trying to introduce breakfast foods into their menu. Chipotle follows specific requirements of the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 when working with other supply chains to get their ingredients. According to Chipotle they use the practice on four accounts, Verification where they periodically asses their supply chain where they will evaluate among other things or any relation to human trafficking and slavery as well as the misuse of any animals. Auditing where they routinely check on the suppliers facilities and make sure they are properly vetted through announced or unannounced inspections to make sure that the products are truly meeting the requirements and regulations set by Chipotle. Certification, which is another step to verify that the supplier of Chipotle are compliant to the applicable laws and are certified and finally Internal Accountability which is a final step to verify the suppliers are following the laws and regulations set up by the government and chipotle management.
