BEING PROGRAMMED TO BELIEVE THAT BUSINESS IS BAD: Have you been programmed to believe that business is bad, that money is evil? It's been my observation that there are two camps of people who espouse these views: 1. People who haven't been successful in their careers. These people are like the fox who couldn't reach the grapes. He gave up with the rationalization that "Oh, well, those grapes are probably sour". These are the people who have either been unsuccessful in their careers or who haven't even tried to be successful. But to save their egos from identification as failures or quitters, and to justify to themselves their giving up or not trying in the first place, they rationalize that business is bad, money is evil--the grapes are sour. 2. Her "Atlas Shrugged" is a very long, very good novel with all kinds of mystery and sex, but it gets her message across. Business is not bad, and money is not evil. Furthermore, if not money for efforts--which is business--how else do you reward people? The only other way to reward people is birthright. That didn't work either. In Russia and China, the old systems that gave birth to communism were founded on birthright. You inherited your wealth or your poverty and you stayed that way. Rebellion against a system founded on birthright is why this Country was founded. Our founding parents wanted the opportunity to be rewarded for effort, the opportunity to change a poor birthright into financial success. SOME BASIC RULES OF BUSINESS: So, if you're going to run your empire like a business, you have to learn the basic rules of business. What are they? 1. Know who you're dealing with. 2. Even if you know who you're dealing with, check her out. 3. Never agree to something unless you fully understand
