The ducks were quacking up a storm. A trio of them took to the air, in a noisy feather flurry. They flew over Christopher’s head, quacking loudly as they went, while the rest ran all over the park as if being chased by an unruly kid. Next came a series of loud pops, followed by the clown’s angry shouts. “Hey kid!” the clown shouted, dropping a hand full of popped balloons to the ground. “You are going to pay for that!” But before he could give chase, the clown’s attention was taken up by a little girl, who looked up at him with tear covered eyes. Valdez wasn’t looking. Finding Christopher there was just a bonus in Buster’s mind. Buster laughed and taunted Mr. Valdez as he gave him the run around, singing, “Nana! Nana! nanaaa! You can’t catch me!” Mr. Valdez tried to grab a hold of Buster, but he wasn’t as quick as in his young days. Buster flung the tacos over his shoulder and stuck his tongue out.
