Accreditation of Cancer Treatment Centers of America The Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) are a network of five hospitals serving adult patients suffering from cancer. The CTCA is a non-profit organization offering an integrated treatment system ranging from physical approaches like surgery to genomic testing and emotional approaches, which are backed by evidenced-based therapies, that aim at improving the quality of life of the patients during and after the treatment. All CTCA hospitals are separately accredited. For instance, every three years the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer requires that health care facilities reapply for accreditation. The re-accreditation process is similar to the initial accreditation process (American College of Surgeons, 2017). The staff of the accreditation institutions like the Joint Commissions and the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer sends application forms to the various hospitals with attached instructions before the lapsing of the accreditation.
