Classic Canadian rock & roll band The Stampeders has been racking up Canadian music and songwriting honors since the 1970s, the most recent being the upcoming SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) Lifetime Achievement Award. Road warriors Kim Berly, Rich Dodson and Ronnie King continue touring today, much as they did in the early years of rock. But now the aging Canadian rockers, still talented and entertaining as ever, play to multigenerational families; and bring along their own families to their concert dates.

In 1968 band members moved from Calgary to Toronto, shedding their western garb. The doors to the world stage would soon open. Calgary safety Wes Lysack praised the competitive fire of the Blue Bombers:

Winnipeg will return home on Saturday to face the CFLs best team, the Montreal Alouettes. The Stampeders travel to Edmonton for a Thursday night game against the Eskimos.
