Citizen Kane may not only be one of the greatest films of all times, but is also known as a pioneer for deifying the traditional way films was made. The use of varies camera angles and deep focus in Citizen Kane added a new aspect to Hollywood Films that was never seen before in that era, and will never be forgotten. The use of camera angles inside this film was simply astonishing. The high and low angle constantly in the movie depicted varies meanings. For example, in the opening and closing scenes the director Orson Welles has the raise over a no trespassing sign and up to the house, and then lowers down the same no trespassing sign in the end. Another example is when the decision is being made about what to do with the main character “Kane’s” possession after he died. Through low camera angles, were the camera looks up, the characters are seen as powerful. When Kane gives his campaign speech and is shot from this angle, it makes him appear more important, fearless, powerful, and larger than everyone else. Through the high camera angles, were the camera looks down and it makes characters appear small, helpless, and weak. An example of this is shown when Susan has her first performance in the opera house. It is a shot of the audience looking down on Susan during her performance. High camera angles are shown multiple time when Kane is talking to his wife and mistress, which shows that he was dominate over the two. Another interesting thing that Welles did at the time with
