Collins dictionary defines dehumanization as the deprivation of human qualities such as kindness generosity and independence. (Collins, 2016) In the camp prisoners experience dehumanization on a day to basis, despite that there were numerous prisoners including Frankl became numb to the mistreatments they experienced. In addition prisoners were given numbers as their name that was often tattooed on their skin as a way for prison guards to call them out mostly for punishment.
