Manchester State Park, Kitsap Peninsula, Washington: West Beach Outcrop Geology Jason Ott The west beach at Manchester State Park consists of roughly 200m of exposed outcrops with well bedded strata of consisting of the Blakeley formation, of Oligocene age, and poorly consolidated beds of Quaternary age. The northern boundary of the area of interest begins at the southern edge of Middle Point and area terminates at Clam Bay to the south. The Blakeley formation consists of alternating sequence of coarse sandstones, mudstones, and sub-rounded/brecciated conglomerates.
I choose the Crystal River State Archaeological State Park in Crystal River , Florida. It is more commonly know as the Indian Burial Mounds. The park itself is in a beautiful location , overlooking the Crystal River on one side and grassy plains on the other side. There is recreational activities in the park as well as the museum. Some of the activities are salt and freshwater fishing , picnicking , bird watching and nature walks.
It was a cold November 16, 1934 and Everett Ruess was in a sticky situation. He was stuck in a snow igloo hastily made 6 days before his hands were poisoned by a rattlesnake’s bite. It was a beautiful and breezy morning in Hartford South Dakota when Kimey was taking a nice stroll through the park. Kimey went to the park every sunday morning to hear the little birds chirp, and smell the fresh grass and flowers. She would pass by people with their wonderful pets. Dear Diary, The campsite overlooks the beautiful Missouri River. The weather has not been quite as beautiful as the river. Last night, the rainy weather damaged the roof of my sod house. I hired a man to fix the roof for me early this morning and I paid him in return.
I will never forget that encounter the intense sun, the endless horizon, the infinite shades of blue that dissolved any boundary between sky and trees. The views were like swimming into a kaleidoscope, deceptively plain "Lake Winaukee" sign on the outside, but a show of colors on the inside, waiting to shock and, mesmerize me. Those colors! Sails on the horizon covered the lake; streaks of sunlight illuminated them, the swaying wildlife creating a dance of rhythm. Beautiful, preserved life synchronizing every movement with the camp sight creating one living entity.

Purpose: To inform the audience about my trip to South Dakota and why it is my favorite vacation. To inform the audience of the many different places I went and activities that I did while in South Dakota. Thesis: My trip to South Dakota was the most memorable vacation I have been on because of the many marvels the landscape had to offer. I fondly remember diving into history and learning about the historic sites, marveling at the vastness of the Black Hills and Badlands, and gawking in amazement at the beauty and mystery of the caves.
When people think of segregation they think of what segregation was sixty years ago, people think of the type of segregation when African Americans were divided from whites or in other words restricted from specific things. Segregation has never disappeared but has changed dramatically since then. De facto segregation is still at large in today’s society. The type of segregation that is happening today is when a person or family chooses to move to a segregated area. They are practically forced out of their former town because they usually cannot afford bills and taxes and move to a town with lower bills.

Dillard’s description of the sun rising over the Puget Sound is a prime example of an ordinary experience made extraordinary. She describes the light and color of the sunrise in such detail that it becomes a breathtaking moment of beauty that is easy to take for granted in everyday life. Her depiction of the natural world is not only visually stunning but also evokes a sense of wonder and awe that can be felt by anyone who takes the time to truly see and appreciate it. However, Dillard also provides pictures of nature that our minds may have sensed but were too tired to notice.
