Bethany Clark Carole King Carole King was born February 9th 1942. Carole had started playing piano when she was four years old. By time she was ten she was an accomplished pianist. She formed the last name King for her stage name (Carole King. Biography.com). In high school she decided to be in the band the Co-sines. She met her first husband in Queens college in 1958, they wrote many songs together. Carole King did have some earlier songs that did not take off such as “Goin’ Wild” and “Baby Sitten” (Carole King Biography). Her first hit song was “Will you love me tomorrow” when she was only seventeen years old. She originally wrote the song for the Shirelles with her husband Gerry Goffin. They wrote many songs together for other people and bands, some examples include; “Take Good Care Of My Baby” written for Bobby Vee in 1961), “The Loco-Motion” was written for Little Eva in 1962, “Up On The Roof” was written for The Drifters in 1962, and “Chains” was written for The Cookies in 1962, and many more (Carole King).
