When I think back to my high school days, my first car is always part of the memories. It wasn't a pretty car and didn't get good mileage but it was a perfect car for the speed-happy teen I was back in the 70s. I called my car "The Tank" and told my friends I wished I could just drive over cars in my way. I was 16 or 17 years old when my sister's used car was handed down to me. That's how it works in big families. Everything from clothing to bikes to cars and sometimes boy or girlfriends is passed down. My sister was in college by then and had moved up to a used Rambler. Carpooling is a wonderful way to decrease the high levels of carbon emissions and move us towards a much much much more clean planet earth. Not only is using a carpool an effective way to save the environment it's also easy to do! All you will need is have a good coworker that is in the same town close to your home that you give a ring ring and request that begin carpooling and that's that! So, how does carpooling help you? Well first, we'll start with why sharing rides is good for your savings account because it definitely does. Reason number one: it saves you a fortune on gas because just think about it for a second, what's the amount of gas commuting heading to work all week? Here, I'll answer for you: a lot! But, if you carpool with someone the large quantity of fuel you go through is greatly shrunk which saves you a pretty penny. You better remember to switch in and out with the persons you get a ride with so it's all fair. What are some more upsides to ride sharing out there? Secondly, ride sharing saves our earth from huge amounts of pollution that our cars puts into our atmosphere and that greatly reduces the strain on the environment. Then, with the reduced demand on fuel from carpooling the high prices for gasoline would be extremely reduced and also drilling for fossil fuels would slow which would be a huge relief on the environment which is great!
