After going on a walk Lil Jerry plants flowers and tries to forget his past actions. He gets mad at Kaprice and tells her that she should not mess with anyone else. After they had gone home “Lil’ Jerry refused to sleep with her after that. “He froze me,” Kaprice says. He was like you are not gonna mess with nobody else.
Junie B. Jones gets on the school bus to head to head to her first day of school, but she can’t find anywhere to sit or anyone to sit with. When the bus arrives at school, all of the kids start pushing and steeping on Junie B Jones. Lucille tells Junie B that the mean kids on the bus like to pour chocolate milk on other kid’s heads for fun. At the end of the day when it’s time to get on the bus to go home, Junie B won’t get on the bus. Instead, she went and hid in a closet.
The name Cassie means unheeded prophetess. An unheeded prophetess is a woman who makes a prediction that no one listens too. Cassie is the main character in “The 5th Wave” and her name meaning fits her because she predicts that she will find her brother and no one listens to her. Cassie predicts her little brother is alive when she says, “What? That my little brother’s dead?
One night Ponyboy goes out with his buddies Johnny and Dally were they sneak into a drive in movie, where they see 2 girls. Ponyboy starts talking to one of the girls cherry who tells him”things are rough all over. ”(35) Ponyboy doesn't believe this though because he thinks money can solve all their problems. Cassie is the main character in Mildred D. Taylor’s story “Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry”. She is a smart, curious 9 year old. As time goes on, Cassie and her family learn many lessons throughout the book. We can see her grow and get a better understanding of how blacks were treated during the 1930’s. Cassie has many racist moments that occur to her, angering her and her family.
The simile shows the reader that Miss Caroline misunderstands the needs of the class and what would engage them. As the children are still in first grade, they would not be interested in listening in farm animal stories and therefore the learning is lost in the children’s mind. In Toni Cade Bambara’s “The Lesson”, a young girl named Sylvia who lives in a poor neighborhood is taken on a field trip to a nice part of town with some other kids in the neighborhood by a lady on her block, Miss Moore. Sylvia, who is authority on the block, feels her authority slipping away as Miss Moore shows that the world is bigger than the neighborhood. Sylvia tries to fight back by keeping the change from the cab ride, not taking part of the conversation taking place in front of the toy store, and trying to control what the other kids say at the mailbox. But throughout the lesson, the other kids are slowly slipping away from her authoritative grasp. By allowing the kids see the expensive toys in the toy store and realize their own financial situation, Miss Moore is teaching a lesson.
