Black Friday is a term that means “The beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season”, since 1952. Black Friday gives shoppers a discount and great deal that they can’t pass up. Shoppers spent $1.9 billion online on Thanksgiving Day and another $3.3 billion on Friday, in 2016 alone, according to Adobe. The shopping even increased in 2017. Black Friday 2017 was all about digital sales. Shoppers spent a record $5 billion in 24 hours. That marks a 16.9% increase in dollars spent online, compared with Black Friday 2016, according to Adobe.

Black Friday injures people every year it is practically a tradition of its own. In 2008, two people were shot. In 2010, A Toys for Tots volunteer in Georgia was stabbed by a crazed shopper. In 2011, a woman pepper sprayed her way into the front of the line. On Black Friday 2012, two people were shot outside a Walmart in Florida over a parking spot. In 2013, a Black Friday shopper stole a tv, fought an officer trying to get it back and tied the officer to his car and dragged him away. The list is endless, shoppers are crazy for the great deals.
