The Pearl harbor attack had an immense impact on the United States because it was the most salient reason why the U.S. joined the war. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese army attacked the United States in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with air crafts.The Japanese army attacked Pearl Harbor in two waves that ultimately lasted about two hours. The attack was brief but they managed to kill 2,000 American soldiers and destroy nearly 20 naval vessels and 200 planes.
