The Red Scare, and 9-11 had a lot of tragic events. The Red Scare occurred because of the fear of communism in the Unites States during 1919-20. America was afraid that of plotting in a revolution. On 9-11 The terrorist did not have the ability to destroy the united states military so they set their targets on symbolic targets instead , destroying both the twin towers, killing and injuring thousands of people. During the Red Scare on September 1920, on Wall Street a bomb exploding and killing 38 people, another bomb destroyed A Mitchell Palmers, and Attorney General home.

The actions of 9/11 and the Red Scare are in fact different. With the Red Scare it was Communism and with 9/11 it was Muslims, basically all Middle Easterners. Even though the date and time of the events are different, in both events men were able to step up and take advantage of fear and hatred to turn it into suspicion and paranoia. During the time of the Red Scare attack, the U.S became afraid that communist especially from Russia and China would spread throughout the modern world. The United States is a Democratic Nation and feared that the spread of communist would be good for the United States or the world.
The Crucible, a play by Arthur Miller, was published on January 22, 1953. This play was based on the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. He used the 1692 Salem Witch Trials as an allegory to show the similarities between the 1692 Trials and the 1950’s Red Scare and how hysteria tears apart a community. In The Crucible, the mass hysteria, imaginary fear/anxiety, of witchcraft uncontrollably spread into the Salem community leading to many innocent deaths. This draws a clear parallel to the 1950’s Red Scare where the scare for communists spread through the United States of America.

In the 1940 's and 1950 's, an anti-Communist movement swept the United States of America. Fueled by the anti-Communist actions of Congress, particularly a Senator from Wisconsin by the name of Joseph McCarthy, the movement escalated and many people lost their jobs as a result of various blacklists. Congressional hearings, both in front of HUAC and McCarthy Senate committee were a study in organized persecution. The actions taken during the "Red Scare" were eventually given the general name McCarthyism. McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence.

The social and political climate had made the people worry about who was a communist or not. It puts fear into people's minds that people around you could be a communist. In a news article published during the Red Scare, the author describes the Communist red flag as symbolizing “defiance of law, order, and constitutional government. It is an insult to the stars and stripes.” It also states, “There is no room in this country for any flag but our own.” (source) The article goes on to say that the federal government must do whatever it takes to eradicate any forms of communism.
The Red Scare and The Crucible Backstabbing is the most painful thing you could emotionally feel. It was a common occurrence when it was displayed in The Crucible and during the Red Scare. People would walk around on a daily basis with a knife to their throats and were watched every day on what they would say. One slip up and their lives and careers could and would have been ruined.
Fear is an embedded gene that all living things possess. Fear, for many societal, has becomes the stepping stone to lay the pathway for each generation. When the soldiers were at fort Knox there was little or no resources and the shelters where horrid. What some of them did not know, the men were about to get help fairly quickly. This was proven in William henry Powell 's painting committee of congress at valley forge. The painting shows the congress going to valley forge and getting in a conversation with the soldiers who obviously needed more resources. Thankfully they ended up gaining the sources.
