For many years I have pondered the answer to many questions but one question that I have continued to wonder is who is responsible for inventing America’s National Pastime. There are three different arguments the first being that Abner Doubleday a Union Officer during the civil war invented the sport. The second and third argument is that it was invented by a man named Alexander Cartwright, he was a firefighter and started one of the first baseball teams the Knickerbocker Baseball Club, or that baseball was not invented by a single person but was modified over time. So who did invent baseball? Being a hardcore sports fan that closely monitors almost every sport I have come to know the history of most sports.
The internet has influenced American culture since the 1970s by providing ways to communicate, share information, connect, and consume media. Having the internet has helped Americans by providing information, helping to get in contact with loved ones, creating economic opportunities, and remote work. However, depending on the person, that may be a good thing. The Punk Rock genre of music has affected American society because of trends, behavior, stereotypes, parenting, and suicide rates.
At the point when Starbucks chose to leave North America (USA & Canada), Starbucks needed to utilize an extensive variety of strategies to decrease social and monetary separations from remote markets. Concentrating on social separations, the organization led a few inquiries about in every nation to assess nearby social sensitivities and inclinations. As it were, Starbucks broke down the business to check whether the host nation was prepared, socially talking, to acknowledge their items. In Japan and China, their showcasing technique was to show up as a "chic western" café and in Europe, where espresso is an extremely old convention, Starbucks worked carefully in light of the fact that the American culture was criticized.
Harry Truman once said, “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.” In today’s society, we have strayed away from those building principles that laid the path for America. The time of rebuilding for the United States was during the Great Depression and the two world wars. Through those times of distress, Americans found a way to persevere and get ourselves out of it.

When it comes to the government multiple questions are raised, particularly whether they control us or if we actually have an effect on their decisions. Personally I feel the government is definitely controlling us. As a student, I am confined to doing the grueling daily task put in place by the government. Attending school is a prime example of the excessive power the government has. America is supposed to be a nation of freedom founded by our ancestors in the late 1700’s , how much freedom do Americans really have?
My mind was going wild; I was both nervous and exhilarated at the thought of starting a new school. A new environment and new people meant having to look to fit in all over again. I did not know this yet, but this first day of fourth grade in a new school would be one of my largest accomplishments throughout my life. Growing up in a Spanish- speaking household gave me a new perspective. Much of my upbringing was different than that of my friends, and I had to adjust to a different culture.
I am a product of the American education system. I have been placed into this very institution ever since I could hold up a pencil and say my own name. Education is highly valued in my traditional Asian household because knowledge is seen as power. Knowledge, as an attribute, is related to achieving the American Dream. Making it up the ladder of success is the classic rags to riches mentality that is deeply embedded into the heads of many minority families.
Some towns and cities do not have neither their own local paper nor television stations. Residents in those areas are forced to watch the national news unless there is a big enough story in those areas like a natural disaster in which case the national media will focus its attention in those areas at least for the duration of the natural disaster. Increase media use increases the likelihood that the person will in fact vote. A person who reads the newspaper is more likely to vote than the person who does not read the newspaper. People in the United States use television to watch the news more often according to ratings.
In the article entitled “Finding the Bicultural Balance: Immigrant Latino Mothers Raising ‘American’ Adolescents” by Yolanda Quinones-Mayo and Patricia Dempsey, Quinones- Mayo and Dempsey discuss the barrier between immigrant mothers and their “American” adolescents because the American society teaches the adolescents to become independent from their mothers (2). The article itself presents the social work analysis of the relationship between the mother and child respectively based off the Latino culture, as well as the adaptiveness of the adolescent to American culture. Specifically, Quinones-Mayo and Dempsey argue that the strain in the relationship between immigrant mothers and their “Americanized” children is caused by American idealism.

When thinking of violence, most people picture a fight scene from a movie, or the latest news story on mass shootings in schools. Other types of violence are almost never part of the equation. While physical may be the most eminent form of violence, others do exist. Violence comes in three main forms: physical, psychological, and sexual, each with their own unique means of causing harm. People experience violence every day, and many suffer in silence because American culture has taught them that their suffering is not important.
