DISHARMONY INDUSTRIAL RELATION Harmonious industrial relation is required in every country. This is also included country Malaysia. However, in order to achieve a harmonious industrial relation it is common of some issues may arise between employer and employee. All issues arise in industrial relation is known as trade dispute. According to the Industrial Relations Act 1967, trade dispute can be defined as “any dispute between an employer and his worker with is connected with employment or non-employment or the terms of employment or the condition of work of any such worker”. As told in above,some of the trade dispute is picket. Picket done by an employee show that industrial relation is still in disharmonious state. Picketing is the most common form of industrial action taken by workers. In Section 40, The Industrial Relations Act 1967 said that the workers are allowed to attend at or near their workplace when they have a trade dispute for the purpose of peacefully giving information to the public and other workers not to works if a strike has already been declared. First attempt at industrial action usually taken by employees is picketing. On May 27, 2014, it was an article published by The Rakyat Post say that about 100 members of Malaysia Airline System Employees Union (Maseu) held a peaceful picket over their dissatisfaction with Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) management over its plan to sell its engineering division. This picketing was held at Kuala Lumpur. Alias Aziz as Maseu president said MAS as a government-linked company (GLC) should be more concerned with the fate of its workers. The employees heard that the management wanted to sell the profit-making MAS engineering centre, which is the division that maintains, overhauls and repairs(MRO) aircraft for other parties. He also said about 3,000 employees in the division will be affected by the sold. Hence, there was picket done which is leading by him to showed their dissatisfaction at outside the MAS B Complex at Subang Airport on 26 May,2014. Alias also said the union was also worried about the inability of the management to turn the company around and added that Maseu will be sending a memorandum to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to intervene in the
