Jamestown an English colony in Virginia had over 440 people dead in one winter. Here are the mistakes they made, and the problems they created. A few of those reasons are a lack of food, Indian attacks, disease. The first problem is lack of food, the colonists in Virginia had not predicted what it would be like then and how they would come in a drought ranging from 1607-1612 (B). They also didn’t bring very much food with them so they had to steal from the Powhatan Indian tribe which led to future conflicts between them. Indian attacks where a massive reason of all those deaths in the early and late times of those settlements.
