Shakespeare’s Macbeth is a play about A brave soldier named Macbeth who is told the future by three witches. Macbeth is then tempted by darkness to make his prophecy come true, so he kills the current king and becomes king of Scotland. During his rule, he is consumed by anxiety, fear, and darkness. Eventually, his actions lead him to his death. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is a brave and honorable soldier who believes in fighting for his country and the people. Macbeth’s downfall was influenced by his corrupt reign and fear of death which cause him to change from a noble soldier to a corrupt and greedy King. In Act 4, Scene 1, Macbeth has gone to revisit the three witches. And hears Macduff has fled, “ Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn / The power of man, for none of women born / shall harm Macbeth”(90-92). Here the witches have told Macbeth to be violent, bold, and determined. They also tell him to make fun of other men because no one of women born can harm him. Macbeth is filled with vanity and confidence after hearing that no person can harm him. In Act 4, Scene 1, Macbeth has gone to revisit the three witches and hears Macduff has fled, “ From this moment / the very firstlings of my heart shall be / the firstlings of my hand. And even now / To crown my thoughts with acts, be it thought and done” (166-169). With the witches' new prophecies, Macbeth says he will act as soon as he wants to do it. He's going to start now. Macbeth has been significantly influenced by the witches. Before the second predictions, Macbeth was scared and trembling from his thoughts of who will defeat him and when. Now Macbeth is feeling invincible. The witches' new predictions fill Macbeth with a feeling of invincibility and great confidence.
