“Lord of the Flies” is a book about a bunch of school kids landing on an Island. There are no adults and all of the kids are below the age of thirteen. One of the kids becomes chief of the other and this upsets one of the boys. This boy later starts to rebel from the chief and the other boys. When this happens chaos breaks loose throughout the island. The boys split into two groups, one represent good and the other representing evil. They start to kill each other until finally someone shows up to take them home. The theme of this novel is, civilized versus chaos. This is because in the book there are several civilized boys and lots of chaotic boys. Simon represents one of the civilized boys. He is able to reason, and does not kill anything. William Golding wants the reader to wonder what is coming next and he does that very well in this novel. While your reading this book you are always wondering what is going to happen next. When Jack splits of from the group no one knows where he is going to go, so you wonder about it and then something else happens and you start to wonder about that too. This entire book keeps you guessing as you read, and you want to keep reading to figure out what is going to happen. This book has several strengths and weaknesses. One strength of the novel was the author's ability to let the reader get on an emotional level with some of the characters. While you are reading this book, you have strong feelings for several of the characters. One of the characters that I had feelings for, was Piggy. The author makes you feel bad for piggy, and I believe the is a strong point of the book. One of the weaknesses was that the author focused mainly on two or three characters. While reading the book the reader often forgets about the other characters in the book because they never say
