In Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes, the quote, “Life in nature is nasty, brutish, and short” is an exact short summary of almost the whole book. Since the boys lost their innocence, they were starting to become Leviathan and started to kill things and not care or understand the government and why we needed it. The Leviathan government doesn’t have the fire because they went their own way and want their own power and no norms except to just have fun and not care, but now realize that they need it, so they take the power from the norm/try to get help/sustainable government. This is exactly the loss of innocence in the reversed Prometheus. In the story, Prometheus takes the fire from the gods and gives it to the people on Earth.
