Chapter fourteen is called Social Work and Substance Use, Abuse, and Dependence. This chapter states that the term alcohol is sometimes referred to any type of liquor that contains alcohol. An example of alcohol could mean a beer or even whiskey. The word drug is often used to describe any substance or material that alters moods when digested. An example of a drug would be cocaine or hallucinogens. These substances are often taken orally, consumed, inhaled, smoked, injected, or inhaled through the nose. Many of the individuals who reside in these types of drugs often affect their whole family. These substance abusers will often try to avoid taking responsibility for their behavior because they have already developed their common defense mechanism.
