1 predict in in the next chapter during The Pacific Journal of Adam Ewing he will change his views about slaves. In chapter 3 after seeing a slave being whipped and in pain ( pg.7). Ewing feels empathy but does not want to show it to much to Doctor Goose. This is because Doctor Goose has power and influence towards a lot of people and cruelty towards slaves was normal. Another reason why I believe this because Adam Ewing started to 'befriend' a slave who he very much liked his company and his kindness. Because he meets a indoors slave where that particular slave was living a better life then a field slave. In addition in the story Ewing doesn't sound like he dislikes him or slaves.
