Maya is a little girl she is only 8 years old. She has traveled side to side from her mother’s house to her grandparent’s house along with her brother bailey. She traveled by her self in the train with out no supervision by nobody just those two. Maya had a rough lifestyle growing up with her mother. The only person that she is very close is her brother bailey she can trust bailey with anything she will tell him any secret she has. Maya loves to read and her favorite author was William shakesphere she will go to the library by her self. In Chapter 24 page 492, “Maya had eaten a candy that she stolen from the store. She had stolen Milky ways, Mounds, Mr.Goodbars and Hershey with almonds.” Maya had already cavities all ready from eating so many sweets. She starts to get tooth pain. Maya hurt her self more with the Listerine it made her gums burn even more. So they did go to the dentist in stamps where Dr. Lincoln has his office but grandma knock the back door and a little girl open it and grandma ask her if she can speak with Dr. Lincoln. So he did come to the front door and said hello Annie what a surprise. She said well I bring in my grandbaby she is in a lot of pain please check her up for me Dr. Lincoln. So Dr. Lincoln told grandma “Annie everybody has a policy my policy is to don’t treat colored people.” Grandma got so mad and told Maya to leave the room. She did not take “No” as a answer she said will I lead you money and I don’t have a policy saying I cant lead it to white people.
