Schmidt, the lead character, Holling Hoodhood has a dad who’s constantly agitated and distressed about his job. If you do one little thing that could mess up his business, it could affect the descendants after him. Holling’s dad finally has a chance to have his verge of happiness.
Paul Bäumer is introduced as the main character in the novel, and the novel is told in his experience and his perspective. He starts the story off by explaining what happens during a daily life of a soldier at a war. He goes on to explains the amount of what they eat and a number of smoking supplies that they can have. He explains that the war that they are currently in, their supplies are rationed. He then explains that 14 days ago they had to go to the front line and to go to battle.
Logan Sweet is one of the main characters in the book The Candymakers. Inside, he is just a curious, intelligent, gifted boy with a very kind heart. He just wants everybody to get along. But on the outside…. Well let’s just say that he isn’t your average kid.
In The Scarlett and the Black, Colonel Kappler was in charge of occupying Rome during World War II. He was a very complicated character with two totally different sides to him. His words display this contrast between his need for control and intense love of his family. One of the Colonel's first statements was "My duty is to maintain order in the streets, discourage resistance, and round up escaped prisoners.". This was in response to Pope Pius XII's inquiry about the Nazis caring about safety.
He gets good grades but gets picked on a lot by Socs. He has long dark hair and is small and skinny. He shows that people are not always like they seem. People mistake him for a hardcore Greaser. In reality wants to live on a farm with Soda’s old horse and with Johnny and his parents.
In the year 1914, a war started that would turn innocent people against each other, and have aftermaths that include thousands of people dead due to new equipment like tanks, gas attacks, and hand-to-hand combat. In this war there was a soldier named Paul Bäumer who is a German nineteen year old who has made friends that will last a lifetime during this experience, but has also felt immense pain. His daily routine is to sleep, eat, and fight in the trenches, and he experiences death every day. Most soldiers view death as a recurring event, but Paul views it as wretchedness, which makes him different from others by caring about his comrades more than others. Paul shows many qualities through this experience of being a soldier in the First World War, and he learns what is necessary in life, which takes some people years to figure out.

(SIP-A) A familiar character in the novel, Mildred, who represents the average person of society, is drawn to the technology and uses her devices constantly. In Ray Braudbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag undergoes major changes because of the influence of other intellects and events; in effect this caused him to ruminate about events that were considered “normal”. Montag’s occupation is firefighting, however he is not the traditional version of a fire fighter. Montag does not put out fire, but rather helps ignite them.

In the novel, Tomorrow When The War Began, by John Marsden is about eight teenagers who confronted a situation that is out of their security and are trying to save their families. Fi, Homer, and Ellie are few of the characters that showed courageousness in the novel; finding out their unknown courage, taking risks, and not giving up to everything that happens. It is some of John Marsden’s message about courage. The characters also demonstrate it while they were in conflict with the soldiers who invaded their town and imprison their families in the Showground. Courage is what Ellie has that she never thought she had.
Flagg’s character Evelyn Couch is seen as a believable character, because the reader gets a bit of background on who she is and why she goes to the nursing home. In the novel, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, Evelyn is described as a “forty-eight year old . . . [who] had gotten lost somewhere along the way” (37). After her children left to college Evelyn felt as if she did not know what to do with her life anymore, because before it revolved around her family and taking care of each one of them. In the late 1980’s women began to have more job opportunities; however, in Evelyn’s case she was already too old to go out and work for a company without having went to college.
Johnny probably had one of the worst lives of the greasers, yet he still managed to stay optimistic even after being beaten on an almost daily basis. Johnny would also stand up for people even after being isolated for most his life, as shown when Dallas was harassing Cherry and Marcia. Finally the most loyal of them all, even on his deathbed he stuck by his friends and only allowed them to vist and not his horrible mother that ignored him for most his life. In Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper", the narrator of the story is constantly at battle with many different forces, such as John, her husband, the yellow wallpaper that covers the walls of her room, and ultimately herself. Throughout the story the narrator further detaches herself from her life and becomes fixated on the yellow wallpaper that surrounds her in her temporary home, slowly driving her mad. The narrator of "The Yellow Wallpaper" is a major and dynamic character as she is the main character of the story, and throughout the story her personality and ways of thinking change drastically.
Michael Curtiz’s Casablanca (1942) is a film based in WWII around different nations involvement in the war. Casablanca is a stylistic piece of propaganda based in Casablanca, Morocco, a hotspot for Europeans escaping the war and Nazi government. Within the movie each character represents a nations stand in the war. Because of this each character is compromised in certain ways and has clear flaws. Ilsa Lund, the main female character in the film is renowned for being extremely manipulative and overly emotional because of the way women were seen in this era.

In the novel Theodore Boone The Fugitive by John Grisham Theo must use all of his skills to bring down a most wanted fugitive. Theo is a teenager who has grown up as a kid lawyer and he will do anything to catch a criminal and help out his hometown of Strattenburg. In the novel, Pete could not be caught and put behind bars without the help of Theo’s intelligence, braveness, and persuasiveness.
