(MIP-1) People in the society of the novel Fahrenheit 451 are absorbed in technology, they are so immersed in it that they are always using it and drawn to it in the novel. (SIP-A) A familiar character in the novel, Mildred, who represents the average person of society, is drawn to the technology and uses her devices constantly. The people whose mouths had been faintly twitching the words Dentifrice Dentifrice Dentifrice” (Bradbury 75). All the people on the train listen to a radio ad while they are waiting to get to their destination on the train. This piece of evidence from the novel shows that even just a radio ad the people enjoy it and memorize it. Additionally this quote also shows that the many people on this train are all caught up in the rhythm of the ad and even tap their feet to the beat and mouth out the words. Due to the fact that they are clearly enjoying this radio being on the train, this may prove they probably like it when technology is always with them so they can regularly listen to it. Their actions to the radio show that they are submersed in it and clearly since they enjoy it so much. For this reason, the average people of society are addicted and submersed by this technology. (STEWE-2) "The train radio vomited upon copper, silver, chromium, and brass.
