Character Profile – Mrs. Beryl Stapleton This is a character profile of the character Mrs. Beryl Stapleton from the book “The Hound of the Baskervilles” – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Facts about the Character Mrs. Beryl Stapleton has in the book a lot of different names: Her real name is Beryl Garcia. After she married James Baskerville they changed their names to Vandeleur. So at this moment Beryls name was Beryl Vandeleur. As they went to the south of England, they changed again their names. This time their name was Stapleton, which is also the name the reader meets the two characters. Beryl Stapleton is married with James Stapleton. But at the start of the story, they pretend to be brother and sister. In the book isn’t said the exact age of Beryl Stapleton.
