Louie Zamperini was a rebellious and courageous man throughout the years of his life. He was a olympic runner and came in first for fastest time in high school and later went the olympics to race against other cities. He was in a POW camp for 2 years and was beaten by a mean man named Mutsuhiro Watanabe. And Louie Zamperini was born in Olean New York and later moved to Torrance California. Louie Zamperini shows two characteristic traits of rebellious and courageous throughout the book Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken.
The Mirabal sisters, also known as La Mariposas, have been known throughout the Dominican Republic for participating in a major revolution against their unjust ruler, Rafael Trujillo. After years of the sisters’ hard-work, along with the others who were involved in the revolution, their work paid off when Trujillo's regime ended with his assassination. However, in order for them to have taken part in this act against Trujillo, the Mirabal sisters had to sacrifice several things from their lives, most importantly, their freedom and their relationship with their family. Many people believe that these sacrifices were not necessary because the sisters didn’t need to go to the extent where the end result would be them orphaning their children. Nonetheless,

Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand chronicles Louis’s story and depicts how the differences in culture of two nations affected the lives of the thousands of American soldiers imprisoned in Japan during World War II. Louis was captured by the Japanese after he survived for forty-seven days on the open ocean with minimal supplies.

This theme of chaos is in part seen through the inconsistent timeline of the play. Chaos is also seen through the development of the main characters Marisol, June, and Lenny. Jose Rivera’s purpose in writing about chaos is to parallel the real life experiences of so many people before and even now that live the lives of his characters in Marisol. The chaos is present to give voice to the real people who lived in uncertainty, enduring the insane events of the play.

In the book Renegades by Marissa Meyer, many things happen throughout the book that many will find interesting. This story follows two main characters, Adrian Everhart and Nova Artino/Mclain. In this world, there are these people who are prodigies with superpowers that they either inherit or are born with. There is also a Council that is made of the best superheroes or Renegades, all around the city that this book takes place in and the son of the top two Council members is Adrian Everhart with their leadership skills and the ability to make whatever he draws come to life. Through his troubles as a child, emerged a strong-willed Olympic runner, who later became a military aviator. He was lost at sea and then captured by the Japanese as a prisoner of war. He endured years of abuse and suffering but still managed to stay true to who he was.
