What are 1960 's outsiders? What are 2000 's outsiders? They are both put out of society, but that can 't be it. The outsiders have changed so much, it 's incredible. But, why are insiders afraid of them.
FINAL EDIT: In my eighth grade English class, we are reading a YA novel titled, “The Outsiders. ” I am amazed by this text because the author, SE Hinton, uses dramatic wording to create tension and imagination in her writing.. When I read this book, it feels like I am in the story, and that every event is the climax of the book.
In the story The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton, there are two rival groups/ gangs, the greasers and the Socs. A young boy named Ponyboy explained his journey being a greaser and the sacrifices, consequences, and decisions he had to manage with. This story reminds me of William Shakespeare's story Romeo and Juliet of their similarities which are they gangs, fights, and loyalty and differences that are the wealthiness, behaviors, and between the two books. One of the similarities of the two books is the groups/ gangs, because in Romeo and Juliet there are the Montague and Capulets and in The Outsiders there are the greasers and the Socs. They are both enemies and try to sabotage and fight each other when every they have the chance to.
Character Analysis on Ponyboy: Academic Essay The Outsiders, Written by S.E Hinton is a good influence on many teens that feel like Ponyboy. I felt like Ponyboy and I have an our very strong differences and we are both alike om the same way.
In the novel, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton,Poneyboy made a choice that ultimately drove the plot. Poneyboy wanted to walk home alone, and got jumped by the Socs. “ No”, they had me down in a second, they also had my arms and my legs pinned down”,(Hinton 5). One of the Socs was sitting on my chest with his knees on my elbows, and if you don’t think that hurts, you’re crazy”, (Hinton 5). Poneyboy made this choice,because he didn’t want to wait for one of his friends or one of the gang members to drive him home, “ I could have called Darry and he would have come by on his way home and picked me up, or Two-bit Matthews-one of our gang members-would have come to get me in his car if I had asked him, but sometimes I just don’t use my head.

The characters that i like best in this book the outsiders was ponyboy, johnny and sodapop these characters were brave and showed love and affection to each other the boys stayed by each others sides the most and these three boys never really had any arguments ponyboy was the one who was scared the most and always got in arguments with darry his older brother and they never really had anything in common but ponyboy was always there for darry and all the other boys. Jonny was not apart of ponyboys family but darry,sodapop, ponyboy always treated jonny like their own brother and jonny was also scared and quit like ponyboy. Now soda pop was the good looking one out of the whole family sodapop and johnny were darry’s favorite sodapop was always a ladies man ponyboy said that sodapop looks like a movie star soda pop had long dark brown hair that always was pushed back with grease he had blue eyes and was very kind and gentle so was ponyboy but sodapop and darry were close but ponyboy was to but not as close as sodapop and Darry.

In the novel The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, it goes over the life of a teenager and the pain of losing your loved ones and only having your friends to rely on. All decisions made in the story were crucial in every way since it went over real life situations. One character who’s decisions were influenced by the gang members called the Greasers and the environment he lived in was Johnny. Some decisions Johnny made that were influenced by the gang members were killing the Soc, wanting to turn himself in, and saving the children in the burning church.
The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton describes the need for people to belong because one sticking out causes bad judgment and isolation . In daily life, people try to make themselves socially appropriate. When the Greasers locate themselves near the Socs, the Greasers try their best not to draw attention, so the Socs do not start joking about them as usual. Ponyboy, one of the smartest Greasers, recalls, "One time in biology…I forgot what I was doing, or I would never have done it…this girl right beside me kind of gasped, and said, ‘They are right. You are a hood.’
In this book report I will talk about the book “The outsiders” written by S.E. Hinton, I will do a review of the story, the point of view, theme, symbols and my opinion about this book I really liked to read for the English class. The story is about a boy named Ponyboy who lived in a small town in Texas with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop were a gang war was taking place between two different social class people: The Socs and the Greasers. Ponyboy will learn the consequences bad acts can bring to your life in the middle of a gang war. The greasers were a middle class and not so social kind of people who liked to get in trouble and The other gang The Socs were a most of them a high class or middle-high class group of people who where they went they will always go in groups of like three or four people.
“Running away won 't help.” Johnny was right. Ponyboy had people that loved and cared for him... they just didn 't know how to show it!” In the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, proves that no matter what type of Social class you are; Greaser or Socs, family is most important and will help you get through the difficult parts in life.
Our world has many different people with different beliefs, thoughts, and personalities. S.E. Hinton’s book, The Outsiders, shows this. Some characters are Socs and some are Greasers; some are admirable and some are reprehensible. In The Outsiders, the most admirable character is Sodapop. Sodapop is an admirable character because he is filled with positively warm energy that makes people feel good and he is an understanding person.
How “The Outsiders” written by S.E Hinton is coming of age novel During life, people will go through tragic experiences, difficult period of time and pressured by the society around them that eventually their innocence will fade with age. This can be clearly shown in the novel “The Outsiders” (written by S.E Hinton) in which the characters who are living in an area (East side of Oklahoma) full of gang society and violence;….Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade and the rest of his friends and siblings are forced to mature and grow up quicker and earlier than most of the average people due to the traumatic/tragic experiences that they had to face during their everyday conflict between “The Socs” (their rival social group). First of all, before Ponyboy Curtis had met the two girl Socs in the cinema (Sherry Valance and Marcia), he had thought that every person who are a member of their rival’s social group were very wealthy, but very threatening towards The Greasers.
When you think of family you might think of adults and their children, or kids who lost their parents but are still related to each other. The Outsiders by S.E Hinton tells otherwise. It shows that even if you are not related, you can still be family; you can still have love and affection for each other. In the book, there is a contradiction between the gang’s biological family and their “family”. There is connection shown between the greasers from the Socs in the blue Mustang to Johnny dying in the hospital not wanting to see his mother.
Many people have used violence to solve problems that they have at some point in their life, but as you look back at what you accomplished, you realized that violence doesn’t help you in a good way. Ponyboy learned that the hard way. In The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton presents the idea that using violence against your rival(s) isn’t the solution, it is the problem. One scene that reveals the idea that violence isn’t the answer and that it can only hurt others, was in Chapter 3 when ponyboy talks about what happened to Johnny. He said, “Johnny was lying face down on the ground.
