Bang! The sound of a gun has went off in school. There was a boy named Charlie who was shooting at kids during school. He had planned this for a long time during and after school hours. There was another boy who had heard him talking about it but never told anyone because he was scared. Since the boy never spoke of the issue, his consequence was the death of multiple kids who had been taken in the shooting. Therefore, many kids died because of him not telling any adult about Charlie's plans. So, telling someone can lead to many lives that could be saved. One day, Matthew was eating lunch like everyone else. He had heard a boy talking about a plan he had in mind which was to shoot up the school. Over the next couple of weeks the boy kept on talking about his plan. Matthew kept on deciding whether to tell or not to tell someone about the boy’s plans. Well Matthew decided that he was going to tell someone about the boy’s plans. So, he went on and told an adult about the boy’s plans. The adult had contacted the police right away. They had arrested the boy and charged him and another boy involved in a school shooting. “The police had told Matthew that it was one of the most credible threats they’d ever seen.” There is another side that does not want people to tell on others because they are scared and nervous to tell. A reason why people don’t tell is because they are afraid that if they do tell, it could lead to bad things. Some examples of these bad things are like being called a snitch or a tattle tale by other kids for telling. People also think that not telling someone is okay because sometimes people would think that it was a joke someone was telling like the kid Matthew Garrett. He thought that the boy that was talking about shooting up the school that he went to was a joke. A few weeks after, Matthew found out that it was not a joke but that it was real. So, telling someone is the best way because it can lead to positive things and not negative
