During the analysis of Ted Cruz’s speech at Liberty University, the campaign committee used strategic setting, illustrated the American Dream and appealed to Christian values to successfully influence their audience to follow Ted Cruz in his run for president. On March 23, 2015, Senator Ted Cruz kicked off his Presidential Campaign in Virginia at Liberty University, where its socially conservative student body became a political powerhouse. According to Ken Cuccinelli, president of the Senate Conservatives Fund and former Virginia attorney general, Liberty has become a powerful organizing center for conservative activists; Liberty produces thousands of graduates who volunteer and vote for conservative causes. Cruz’s speech focused on the American Dream and the agenda of the Republican right, as he described his campaign as a movement of “courageous conservatives.”
With every breath I exhale, I see the cold mist leave my mouth, my lips chilled and my ears red but I continue my way up the path. With every stride I make, I think of all the unique and diverse people who have been in this exact spot on this long path to the top of Presidents Circle. The University of Utah has impacted my life far more then I could have ever imagined, and I am left to thank the people before me for that. The University of Utah has a group of alumni that are passionate, successful leaders who want the opportunity to give back. One alumni and role model in particular is named Jon Huntsman Jr. who attended the University of Utah in 1980’s.
“Speech to the Third Army” General George Patton speaks with great credibility or ethos; Patton was born into a family with an extensive military background, both his father and grandfather were both highly respected members of the military. General Patton had a very long and successful career in the military, and firmly believed that leading should be done by example, and for that reason, Patton was always in front of his troops during war. George lived and breathed for the military, he once said “one must be so soaked in military lore that he does the military thing automatically” (Harkins, War as I knew it). The speech titled “Speech to the Third Army” was given to the young men who were about to go into a gruesome war and fight for their country, General George Patton had to cheer these boys up and make them feel like they were doing the right thing for their country.
Certain traits and characteristics make a leader. For a leader to earn the trust of people and to make them understand his or her authority, he or she must get a few specific characteristics. The book Lord of the Flies establishes these traits in the character Ralph. Some of these key traits include maturity, integrity, and reliability.
This would have to be Mitt Romney. He is helpful to people and makes sure they feel like they can trust him, he makes sure his family is being helped too, he tells the truth and makes promises that he tries to fulfill the best he can. The first reason why Mitt Romney is the reincarnation of King Arthur is because he makes people feel like they can trust him and he tries to be the most helpful to them as he can. This is a big thing to most people because if you were to trust somebody to lead a state, like he is now, or even a country that is hard to do. Some people say they could do it, but if they really were put in that position than they probably would break down or quit.

One of the greatest United States leaders that I found to uphold these traits would be General George S. Patton, reason being he was able to create new ideas that were able to drive incredible outcomes in a crucial time. On November 11th, 1885 the hardnosed man General George S. Patton was born.
Being a good leader does not necessarily mean shining in the spotlight. Some of the most revolutionary and successful leaders are the ones who worked the lights. Self-awareness, self-direction, vision, ability to motivate, and social awareness are the characteristics of a good leader according to SIY Leadership Institute (SIYLI). There have been many accomplished and renowned leaders in America since (and before) the 1770’s, ones whose names are universally known and others who are unfamiliar. Of the latter is Alexander Hamilton, who showed potential since the minute he was put on earth, for no matter what obstacles were thrown in his way he forged ahead and never threw away his shot.

Tyler Perry, American playwright, actor, screenwriter, producer, and director, was born as Emmitt Perry in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 14, 1969 to Maxine and Emmitt Perry. Furthermore, a study made by Amit et al about leadership-shaping experience found that a group of soldiers who had more leadership experiences were perceived to be leaders compared to those who did not . This points to the fact that exercises in self-development and discipline were key to building leadership qualities. Leaders as mentioned before are role-models in society and when those leadership qualities are nurtured, the society as a whole benefits from them.
