Characterization of General Zaroff In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell the character of General Zaroff is characterized as being a thrill seeker. When General Zaroff explains to Rainsford why he hunts people instead of animals Connell writes, “No thrill left in tigers, no real danger. I live for danger, Mr.Rainsford” (5). This quote shows that he’s a thrill seeker because General Zaroff says “No thrill left in tigers” which implies that he does not get the satisfaction of hunting dangerous animals such as tigers anymore. Additionally, he says that he lives for danger so that shows that he’s a thrill seeker because he gets satisfaction by being in danger because he finds it fun and exciting. Zaroff again shows that
