Throughout all eternity, life has existed. Life has taken many shapes and many forms. What started out as a single organism, becomes a fully grown human being. How did this come to be? What took place in those billions of years? Some might find this to be a complicated question, but really it is quite simple: one word, evolution. Evolution is the process that, over time, changed smaller life forms into bigger forms. The man who came up with this theory is Charles Darwin, one of history’s greatest scientists. Charles Robert Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, at The Mount, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. His mom sadly died when he was eight, and his father was a medical doctor. Darwin was born into a wealthy family and was very privileged as a child. When he was younger, he loved to go out and explore. Darwin attended Christ College in Cambridge when he was 18 years old. His father wanted him to follow in his footsteps and pursue the medical field to become a doctor, but Darwin chose not to because the sight of blood made him nauseous (“Charles Darwin Biography”).
