Charles Maddox Manson was born November 12, 1934. Charles Manson’s real father left Kathleen Maddox (Charles’s Mother) when she was pregnant with Charles. She later married a man named William Manson who gave Charles the last name Manson. William Manson abandoned Kathleen, so she decided to put Charles into a foster home. The foster home didn’t exactly work out for Charles because he decided to leave that place and run home to his mother. She neglected him. She had no love for her own creation. After she decided to shut him out he resorted to petty criminal acts like stealing cars and food. He did these things because his mother abandoned him. At the beginning of the murder night, they were starting to get near the house in Beverly hills, and they spotted someone leaving. Tex decided that it would be best if he stopped the man’s vehicle, that was Gary and murder him. The boy’s name was Steven Parent, and he had been visiting a friend named William Garretson who owned a house on the Cielo Drive property (The Road of the murders). Tex Watson signaled for the man to stop and then shot him. When the man got Manson it terrified Linda Kasabian to the point where she decided to stay outside and keep watch. Jay Sebring was shot after he tried to defend Sharon Tate from being murdered. Kasabian felt great anguish and pain towards all the people that were being killed. Some of the things he did in Elementary school resembled his future self. He would like to convince other gullible classmates that he was getting bullied and he couldn’t do anything about it. Some of his classmates would stand up for him and beat up the children that Charles didn’t like. These early signs of manipulation come to show that Manon was a manipulative person his whole life. Jeff Guin says, “Based on fresh testimony from Manson’s sister, cousin and childhood acquaintances, we now know that he displayed violent tendencies from early childhood in the working-class river town of McMechen, West Virginia. Things he did in elementary school eerily foreshadowed his bloody deeds a quarter-century later.”(Guin J, 2014). Comes to show that if he wasn’t in jail so much then the murders might have happened earlier. Charles’s sister Jo Ann lived with him when he was a young child and would babysit him, time to time. One day when she was babysitting him he was bothering her while she was trying to do chores, and what she decided to do was to lock him outside until her parents got back, but Charles didn’t like that. He decided to cut through the screen lining with a sickle that he found in the front yard and looked as if he were going to kill Jo Ann.
