The Real Devil?
Imagine living in the nice part of LA back in the 1960s where nothing bad really happened, Then all of a sudden there are 2 vicious killings in 2 nights. This was the case for the people who lived in LA at the time of the murders. Charles Manson was the man behind these attacks. He believed in the song Helter Skelter which was made by the beatles. He had his own “family” which was more like a cult believing in this Helter Skelter idea also. Charles Manson was a persuasive cult leader that got people to kill for him.
Charles Manson was born to Kathleen Maddox (who was 15 at the time). He was raised mostly by his relatives. When he was 5 his mom went to jail for armed robbery. She tried to use a ketchup bottle as a gun. Manson says that his mother once traded him to a bartender for a pitcher of beer. He spent most of the first 32 years of his life in reformatories and jails. Once he got out of jail he moved to California. He was very popular within the hippie community. He got his family to believe that he was the second coming of god and the devil all in one person. Manson got his family believing that there was a race war coming. He waited a year and nothing was happening so he decided to kickstart the war himself. He sent some of his family members to kill people in a rich white neighborhood. This would be know at the tate killings. The next night the family did the same thing, but this time Manson came with his family. This would come to be know as the Labianca killings.
