I groaned. And I gave in. “Then I won’t let you go.”
He smiled and again, I looked away.
Julie came back with our food and we ate it, and talked about the museum and Charlie’s family.
He had two sisters, both older than him. His parents died when he was fifteen and he’s been on his own since.
Charlie asked me, but I didn’t talk about my family.
When we finished our food, we got into my car and drove back to my apartment.
We got inside and I led Charlie back into my room. He sat on my bed and I started to tie his wrists to the bed.
“Do you have to tie me?” Charlie asked.
“Yes.” I said. “Or else you might leave and go to the cops.”
“Toche.”
I finished tying him and sat on the edge of my bed. I sighed. “I didn’t think this through.” …show more content…

“I have to sleep on the floor.”
“No, you can sleep up here with me.”
“No way in hell am I going to lay in a bed with you.” I said. “Maybe I can tie you somewhere else.” I thought of all the places I could tie him.
“No…” Charlie said. “That would be mean. You kidnapped me. The least you could do is let me sleep in a bed.” Charlie smiled. “It’s not that big of a deal. Just lay on the other side of me.”

I looked at my clock. It was seven o’clock. I guess I can go to sleep right now, I thought. Not that I wanted to quickly get into bed with Charlie. I stood up and grabbed a tank top and shorts. I went into the bathroom to change and came back into my room.
Charlie kept staring at me.
“You’re doing that thing again.” I …show more content…

“It’s not stalker-staring. You’re a piece of art. Who were your parents? They must have been two beautiful people to make you.”
“Not falling for it.” I said.
“Oh, yes you are.”
I rolled my eyes. “Whatever. You keep saying that, but you’re wrong.” I turned off my light and went to the right side of my bed. I crawled under the covers and adjusted my pillows. I laid on my side, my back towards Charlie. I was lying in a bed with him, and there was no way I was going to face him and look him straight in the face.
“Thanks for the dinner.” Charlie said.
“You’re welcome.” I replied.
“Best first date I ever had.”
That’s it, I thought. I switched sides, now facing Charlie. “It was not a date.” I glared at him a little.
“Oh, sure it was.” Charlie smiled.
I felt so tempted to kiss him. I wanted to turn my back towards him again. But I didn’t. “No, Charlie. It wasn’t.”
“Yes, Angelica, it was.” He kept smiling.
“Screw you.” I said. “Good night.” I switched sides, my back now towards Charlie.
“Night.”
It took me a while to go to sleep knowing Charlie was just a couple inches away from me. And it scared me. Instead of focusing on going to sleep, I was trying to keep my mind from taking over and turning around to kiss
