The main focus of her theories revolve around issues with gender and gender inequality in society and she also advocates for change of the gendered structure of modernity. That is a pretty significant difference. This pay gap, while not always the same, is a universal issue faced by people all over the world. This is because jobs that are typically “female” are paid less than jobs that are typically “male” for reason unknown and quite unequal (Who is Minding the Gap, 2017). Women have always been making less money than men in the work force, and Gilman argues that this needs to change in our society because we need to eliminate the discriminatory bias faced by women every day.
